PROJECT 07 - Issues

 After a well deserved break I think it's time to announce the next project. This one

involves you members out there vectoring a pieces (pieces) on an issue that you feel strongly

about. This could be anything from the enviroment to abortion, the upcoming US election to

copyright laws, whatever issue who's side you always come to defend whenever it's in discussion.

Pretty open rules, only stipulation is that in your description you need to describe where your

stance is on said issue, or perhaps why you feel the way you do about that topic.

I'm giving you a month's time on this one, submissions will be due by December 1st. Please

note the *vbu with all subbmissions.

PROJECT 06 - Happy 21st Object!

  *3 month sub. will be awarded*

 You're founder and loving admin is turning 21, he will be drunk very drunk, his friends

have sworn a solemn vow on this. But before Object heads out to the bars he has found a way to

amuse himself; he wants you to make him humorous fake IDs to take to the bar with him and make

bouncer men laugh at him. He has supplied many pictures for you to abus....I mean manipulate, and

play with. Don't worry, judging by the pictures he took, he knows what he's in for. Here are some

Why do this you ask? Because Object is crazy. And because he is giving away a 3 month

subscription to the Fake ID that amuses him the most, so do your best, and participate in

VBU's very first prize project. Object's Birthday is july 9th, so be sure to wish him a good one,

the lucky dog.

RULES:
Any size will be accepted
Does not have to be two sided
Needs to have at least one picture of object on it
Photos can remain unmanipulated if you choose
(as vectors just make scaling it to the right size easiest)
Go absolutly nuts, remember the more he laughs the better
Deadline for prize entries will be July 9th (obviously)
Winners will be announced when object awakens from his drunken stupor

PROJECT 05 - Devices

 It's time for another project folks, and this one is easy . The project is to vector the

electronic device that means the most to you, be it your cell phone, your car (it's part

electronic), or even your toaster. Think about it a while and try to think of the device you

depend on the most, the one you perhaps couldn't get through the day without.

 Deadline is going to be around mid-June to July.

PROJECT 04 - Propaganda

 The VBU is now a whole year old and it's time for another project folks, this one will be

purely to create propaganda for our wonderful club, The VBU. This can range from wallpapers to

user icons, Winamp skins to Flash movies, the point is GO NUTS! The only real rules is having

either "VBU" or "Vector Brothers Unite" or the logo (if you need it in a different

format please note us) in it.

 Like Project 03, I'm not really going to put a deadline on it, but please note the *vbu

with all you submissions titled 'roject 04'. I will probably announce Project 05 soon as well.

PROJECT 04 GALLERY

PROJECT 03 - Battle Royale

 Yes Project 03 is here, a full scale vector war with the small republic of ~vnation and

yes even battles between our own members. This project is exactly like Photoshop Tennis, for

those of you who don't know what this is allow me to ellaborate: One person starts out by making

a piece (subject matter is whatever you choose) then emails his opponent the original piece (PSD

file, AI file, ect.) and then that person proceeds to mutilate it into their own creation. The

only rule in these battles is that you must keep some element of the previous piece (IE shapes,

font, color, ect). But these battles don't have to be between just two people, you could

problably have four or five join in before it gets too confusing. So the main point of this

project is to have fun and BEAT THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF YOUR OPPONENT WITH YOUR SKILLS!

 I will leaving chosing battles up to the individual members since it would be FAR too

complicated to organize them all myself. So just pick someone you might like to fight (find out

their preference of vectoring program, might make trading and mutilating their pieces easier) and

note the *vbu of all battles and I will post them below.

PROJECT 02 - Logo Design

 I can tell you're all chomping at the bits for another project. I think I can help you out.

Scott and I are unhappy with the VBU avatar he made. So, what we want all you to do is make VBU a

new logo. That's it! Lots of room for creativity here. Here's what must be followed:

MUST be 5 inches by 5 inches.
MUST include the text "VBU" or "Vector Brothers Unite!"

 Otherwise you are free to do whatever you want. I hope to see some great logos out of you

guys. We will collect all the logos after a certain undetermined time. Then they will be mosaiced

like the last project. However Scott, Sarah, and I will decide which logo will replace our

current avatar.

 We are planning to give a larger amount of time on this project to allow for creativity and

for all members to hopefully submit. Please keep them coming.

PROJECT 02 GALLERY


PROJECT 01 - Marilyn Monroe

 We polled the members with a few project suggestions, and it seems the numbers decided to

go with Idea 1. That was to take a single reference photo and have every member vector it using

their own individual flavor and colors etc. That photo can be found here: [link] The closing date

on the project is nearing end, say the last day of January. After the end date, we'll send out

notes to collect images from all participating members and start on a mural or colliage of the

works.
